Hello beautiful reader, welcome to another newsletter!
I hope this topic resonates with you, and brings you deeper understanding.
I once had a conversation with someone one time and she mentioned that she didn’t think everyone was destined to succeed. I asked her to expand on her point and she went ahead to ask me, “if we were all destined to succeed in life, why are some people beggars and why do some despite all their trials still end up poor?” I did not have an answer to her question at the time.
I got my answer to this question on Tuesday. Matthew 5:14(NLT version) says “you are the light of the world- like a city on the hilltop that cannot be hidden”.
This means that anyone who believes in The Gospel, who believes in the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who believes that we are just like any ordinary man, that the only thing that makes us different is God’s grace and mercy upon our life.
Whoever believes this, is a city.
As believers, we are destined to succeed in Christ. We are likened to a city that cannot be hidden. I don’t think most believers know the power this verse holds.
I remember reading this and asking God; Me? A city?
A city can birth a thousand blessings. A city is a fertile ground for birth, not just people, but of ideas, movements and innovations. A city can birth schools, orphanages, foundations, churches, banks, businesses and every other organization known to man. The city is a seedbed of potential, and it is a testament to the collective human spirit, demonstrating our capacity to build, create and care.
That is who God likened us to.
You are a city. In you, is a vision that needs to come to life.
So it’s important for believers to know that we are all destined to succeed through redemption in Christ. Like the Gen Z’s will say, that’s the principle of the situation. No two ways about- you believe in the Gospel, you have a place at the top.
But, just like any other principle in life. If you don’t work hard, if you don’t prepare to retain your seat at the top. You will fall.
This is the answer to the question that the lady asked me. Most believers forget that just like they are laws guiding every organization, there are also laws guiding one’s breakthrough in Christ. Most people don’t follow the laws needed to retain their place in Christ.
Everyone knows that we need to pray, but not everyone prays all the time including me. Everyone knows that we need to study the word of God, but not everyone studies it. Everyone knows that we need to read the books of those who have gone ahead of us, so as not to make the same mistakes, but not everyone does that.
This editorial is just to urge everyone to take the necessary steps needed to command authority over their rightful place in Christ. Proverbs 24: 33-35(NLT version) says, “ a little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit, and scarcity will attack you like an armed robber”
Sleep in this verse, doesn’t necessarily refer to physical sleep. It can be a mental sleep, a little laziness or sluggishness in commanding destiny. The scarcity refers to the devil, for he will rob you of destiny.
Dear reader, God has a place for you at the top. The question now is, are you interested?
